short video of my playing

One of my new jazz quartets is working on a new demo package and we set up a video camera at a recent performance. I cut out a small portion of it and thought I'd host it for you all to check out.

Any opinions you all have I'd like to hear.

I would try doing it with more cameras if possible. Maybe two stationary and one mobile. The audio is very 'roomy' and it might be a good idea to place a mic in front of everyone.

The still images in the video seem a bit cheesy to me. I think you're better off just including a photo with the package itself.

First of all, that was some fancy looking venue. Nice. If you're asking for critique on the video itself, I'm no authority, but I would liked to have seen more views or camara angles. Maybe a close up of all of the players not just the Pianist, whose close up, BTW, was a bit blurry. As for the band, it and you sound great. Your kit sounds good too.

I don't know know about the camera setting or something like that. It's acceptable that you guys can't afford a 10 camera team heh! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

That video clip is only a portion of the whole package. I think the deal is all different types of media will be on one CD; making it easy to get all our information to clubs in a small package. The tenor sax player is actually the one putting it all together; I haven't seen the whole thing yet. We were limited to the one camera, being jazz musicians and all = no $$$ [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I was more interested in what you guys thought of the band and the playing. I should have been more specific about that.

Cool playing Zak! Consider yourself lucky to be in such a cool band!!! Around here no one appreciates jazz :| or anything thats not techno or on mtv

You sound good, and for the purpose of getting club gigs, it's probably fine as it is. A studio recording of either well known tunes or your catchiest originals can help too. Good luck!
